Senior Approach & Philosophy

Bay View Academy is registered with the University of Cambridge for examination purposes. Our students in Class X and XI sit for the O-Level exams conducted by Cambridge.

Bay View Academy students have historically received significantly higher grades than Cambridge’s worldwide published results. Please see the results section for details. We offer students a wide range of O-Level options besides the six compulsory subjects. The compulsory subjects include: English Language, Literature, Mathematics, Urdu, Pakistan Studies and Islamiat*.

We also offer a breadth of optional subjects in both the Sciences and the Humanities. In the Sciences we offer Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Studies and Environmental Management. Our Humanities programme includes World History, Sociology, Art, Economics and Accounts. O-Level subjects are first introduced in Class IX. In Class X and XI students are thoroughly prepared in subject content and in examination approaches and techniques.

In Class VII and VIII students are exposed to a broad range of content in English Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Computer Studies, Physical Education, Art, Learning for Life, and Islamiat.

A variety of teaching approaches including research projects, presentations, debate, drama, group work and an increasing use of technology are used in our Senior Section. However, we still maintain a strong focus on tests and examinations.

We believe it is this balance between innovative and traditional approaches that enables our students to excel academically and secure admissions into the finest colleges and universities in Pakistan and across the globe.
