COMMUNITY SERVICE

Experience the satisfaction of serving others

Community Service opportunities at Bay View Academy are designed to provide students with the skills needed to analyze a community’s development need, then plan and organize a specific intervention and finally implement the plan. Students are guided by professionals who help develop the skills and tools they need through seminars, self-study, presentations and group work.

These activities give students the opportunity to serve, and to experience the satisfaction of serving others. Additionally students develop many life skills including communication, teamwork and leadership.

Students at all levels of Bay View Academy take part in fundraising activities for community service projects. These include bake sales and the annual fundraising carnival for the Children’s Cancer Hospital along with donation drives for other organisations e.g. PAWS, TCF, AURA etc.

However, it is our older students in Classes IX-XI who are able to go out into the community and give their time and attention to different organizations such as the Indus Hospital, Bint-e-Fatima, Rahnumma Public School, Dar-ul-Sukun, Sirat-ul-Jannah, and Children’s Cancer Hospital.

Opportunities to serve our community include:

Motivated Volunteer Empowerment Program (MOVE):

Here our school works with the Family Educational Services Foundation to conduct the program. Students are introduced to the concept of community service and go to different non-profit organisations for volunteer activities.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme:

This is the world’s leading youth achievement award. The programme is committed to providing an opportunity for self-improvement to youths between the ages of 14-25 years.

Internships:

Our students volunteer at Children’s Cancer Hospital, Indus Hospital, Bint-e-Fatima, and Dar-ul-Sukun.

Out of school events:

Students also help to volunteer at different events outside of school such as the Indus Hospital Family Carnival and the Karachi Eat Food Festival.
